NDC / Possums Infant Sleep Support

At Nurture & Nourish Collective, our infant sleep support is grounded in the evidence-based principles of Neuroprotective Developmental Care (NDC), also known as the Possums approach. This gentle, holistic model supports both infant development and parental wellbeing—without rigid routines, sleep training, or leaving babies to cry.

Rather than focusing on “fixing” your baby’s sleep, we work together to understand your baby’s unique biology, temperament, and cues. Using a neurodevelopmental lens, we support you to optimise sleep by building healthy sleep pressure, working with your baby’s circadian rhythms, and creating a calm, connected rhythm to your days—while protecting your confidence as a parent and your overall wellbeing.

This approach is suitable for breastfed and bottle-fed babies, and can also be adapted for older infants and toddlers. It is especially supportive for families experiencing frequent night waking, unsettled behaviour, short naps, or feeding challenges.

I am an accredited NDC practitioner and am currently completing further training toward becoming an NDC Fellow. My practice is informed by advanced training in Neuroprotective Developmental Care (Possums), including study in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) as it applies to early parenting. I have completed training with Dr Helen Ball and Dr Pam Douglas through Sleep, Baby & You, Possums Sleep, and Gestalt Breastfeeding, bringing together the latest evidence with practical, realistic support for families.

Together, we focus on:

  • Supporting your child’s sleep in a biologically normal way

  • Reducing stress and overwhelm for you as a parent

  • Supporting feeding—whether breast or bottle

  • Building confidence in reading and responding to your baby or child

This is responsive, compassionate care that honours both you and your baby—supporting you to feel held, informed, and confident in every moment.
