Pregnancy Appointment
Is this support right for you?
This consultation is ideal if you’re preparing for breastfeeding and want to feel confident and supported before your baby arrives. It’s perfect for first-time parents, those who’ve had a challenging feeding experience previously, or anyone wanting to proactively protect their breastfeeding journey. It’s also suitable if you are planning to induce lactation or simply want clear, evidence-based guidance during pregnancy.
What’s included in your care
You’ll receive personalised, holistic support from an IBCLC, with education tailored to your individual goals and concerns. This includes in-depth breastfeeding preparation, guidance on what to expect in the early postpartum period, and practical strategies to support a smooth start.
This consult is offered in our clinic and virtually, with the clinic consultation including a Made to Milk antenatal expressing kit, along with comprehensive education on antenatal expressing should you wish to explore this.
A personalised written plan will be provided within 24 hours, including links to any relevant resources to support your ongoing journey.
Your investment in care
$300 - $315, with a Medicare rebate of $73.75 to $230.11 available for eligible clients.
No referral is required, and Medicare rebates are processed on the spot during your appointment.
Private health insurance rebates may also be available depending on your fund and level of cover.

This appointment is ideal if you’re experiencing challenges with breast or bottle feeding and would like gentle, expert support to move forward with confidence. It may be helpful if you’re navigating discomfort, mastitis, concerns around milk supply, feeding difficulties, or questions around oral ties.
You might also be wanting general feeding guidance, including pumping support (such as flange fitting), bottle feeding, or weaning from top-ups. This consult can support you if your baby is refusing the breast or bottle, you are working through digestive issues or suspected allergies/intolerances, or you are experiencing emotional overwhelm or depressive symptoms related to feeding. It can also support you with returning to work, weaning, or transitioning your feeding journey in a way that feels right for you.
Whether things feel overwhelming or you’re simply seeking reassurance and clarity, this consultation offers a calm, supportive space for you and your baby.
What’s included in your care
You’ll receive holistic, personalised support tailored to your unique feeding journey. This includes an in-depth review of your medical and feeding history, with insight into how your health may be influencing lactation.
Your consultation includes direct observation and assessment of a breastfeed or bottle feed, with gentle, practical adjustments to positioning and technique to improve comfort and feeding effectiveness. A thorough oral assessment of your baby will also be completed where appropriate.
Following your appointment, you’ll receive a personalised plan, detailed summary, and links to relevant resources within 24 hours. You’ll also receive one week of email support with for any follow-up questions, ensuring you feel supported as things continue to evolve.
Your investment in care
Postnatal consultations are offered as either an initial or follow-up appointment. Your initial consultation is a comprehensive assessment of your feeding journey, including medical and birth history, observation of a feed, oral assessment where appropriate, and practical support with positioning and technique. You will receive a personalised plan to guide your care moving forward.
Your follow-up consultation provides ongoing support to review progress, address concerns, and adjust your feeding plan as needed. Follow-up appointments must be within four weeks of your initial consultation.
Both appointment types are available in clinic, at home, or virtually, offering flexible, holistic care. Medicare and private health rebates may apply for eligible clients.
Meet your lactation team
Ash is an Endorsed Midwife, Registered Nurse, and IBCLC Lactation Consultant, as well as the founder of Nurture and Nourish. With experience across midwifery, infant feeding, and holistic maternal care, she supports women and families through pregnancy, birth, breastfeeding, and early parenthood with a calm, evidence-based, and deeply woman-centred approach.
Drawing on additional training in Neuroprotective Developmental Care and birth education, alongside her experience as a mother of six, Ash provides thoughtful, individualised care with a strong focus on continuity and support for rural families.
